Warley Woods Methodist Church at “Picnic in the Park” on 5th July 2026” At Warley Woods Park
We had a stall at Warley Woods Park annual picnic. There were over fifty stalls all around the park and life music being played on the stage. The park was very busy with thousands of people. It gave us an opportunity to outreach in the community and let people know we are still here. We put together a leaflet about our church and put up pictures about some of the history and why we are on the top of the hill. Graham got fifteen people to make clay animals to go in Noah’s Arc and told people the story of Noah’s Arc at the same time. We also told people about our Summer Fete. We had a great time talking to everyone. Thank you to Jen, Iwan, Carol, Sandra and Graham for running the stall.
The weather was hot and dry, we were able to have some stalls outside across the front of the Sunday school building, and then the rest of the stalls were in the hall. We sold cream teas. The cake stall nearly ran of cakes and sold the remainder at church on Sunday. We let some tables and the rest of the stalls were run by our members. We raised money for Birmingham Hospice.
Thank you to everyone who helped, delivering flyers, baking cakes, making crafts. Putting up and taking down the stalls and spending their money. The hall was busing with people who would not normally see at the church. We had a great time chatting to everyone.
