Praise & thanks giving @ QMC

Praise and Thanksgiving Service at Quinton

Our annual Service giving thanks for ,and remembering ,the lives of our many  past and present volunteers was held on 25 October.

Led by John Cowan , we were privileged to welcome the Deputy Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Adam Aston, and his Consort Mr Ben Middleton. They were joined by Rev Hazel Charlton and Louise Hicklin from St John’s Church Halesowen.

The Deputy Mayor spoke about the valuable work of volunteers, and their vital role in our Church and with the community, highlighting also our Eco Church designation, and the warm welcome, support and care given to the communities. After the Service he  posted on Facebook how much he appreciated the Service and welcome that he had received.

Rev Hazel and Louise explained how their New Worshipping Communities initiative was growing their Church and boosting the welcome given to all, whatever their circumstances. Messy Church and Worship and Fellowship in local care homes were examples of their successful approached to growing the Church.

Chris Haynes, as a Trustee of Quinton Youth for Christ, highlighted how they offered their services to give young people the opportunity to meet and learn about the love of Jesus which has been embraced by churches within the area.
