Celebrating the Coronation

We were delighted to join in the celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles III, and as part of this highlight the work of all our Volunteers at Church.

Our morning Worship on 7 May was a wonderful Service led by Claire Hallam, with several people giving examples and experiences of the wide range of volunteering at Church.

The Church and hall were decorated with royally themed flowers and bunting, together with delightful creations by Stitch Group featuring royal figures, a crown and banner.

The Coronation Celebrations continued with a Picnic shared by around 50 of us. Opened by words of greeting from Ilidio (who was on holiday) this featured a musical interlude provided by Mucha and Dorcus, followed by us all singing God Save the King.

Catering was arranged by Rambling Group; Quinton Youth for Christ provided table games and a tuck shop; there were displays by BB and GB; games arranged by BB, and our annual Churches Count on Nature survey based on the Peace Garden.

Along with Mucha and Dorcus, we welcomed Nutan and John, Claire and Rachel from the wider Circuit, and guests from Christ Church, and the Multicultural Community Group in Quinton.

Thanks go to everyone who supported, helped plan and arrange the celebrations, managed activities on the day, provided food and drinks, and finally, helped clear up!

These events were complemented earlier in the week by a Coronation meal at Lunch Club , and after the weekend, a Coronation party at Stitch Group.

All together a most enjoyable period.
